About Us
We help little learners hear, see, and say their first vowel sounds with joy.
Our story
Vowel Sounds began with a simple wish, to make early reading practice feel like play. Many toddlers meet letters before they meet the sounds those letters make. We wanted a calm, colorful place where a child and a grown up can sit together and explore long vowel sounds and short vowel sounds at their own gentle pace.
What the tool does
Each vowel can say two different sounds. A long vowel sound says the name of the letter out loud, like the A in cake. A short vowel sound is quick and soft, like the A in apple. Our playground plays every sound aloud, shows a friendly picture word, and lets your child tap and repeat as many times as they like.
We also include a clear long and short vowel sounds list, so grown ups have a handy chart to follow while teaching. Fresh picture words appear on every visit, which keeps practice lively and helps children build a wider word bank over time.
Who we serve
Our tool is made for toddlers and young children who are starting to play with letter sounds, roughly ages two through six. Parents, grandparents, caregivers, and early years teachers are all welcome to use it freely at home or in the classroom.
Our promise
We keep the tool free, friendly, and easy to use. There is no sign up, and every sound plays in clear American English so the words feel familiar to your family. Thank you for letting us be part of your child's reading journey.
